We here at ATCNet pride ourselves on being “galactic news you certainly can trust” but there are some things in this galaxy of ours that even our crack team of researchers cannot report upon without some level of uncertainty. Indeed, just when you think you’ve made a breakthrough in your studies, this often leads to more confusion, intrigue and wonder. Ever since the discovery of encoded beacons in the Formidine Rift, this area of the Milky Way has proven an irresistible draw for explorers and treasure hunters alike; like a hypnotic magnet to those who would enscribe their names into the history books.

Earlier today in the laboratory and archive of the ATC Sisyphus, we’ve been talking to Dr Jorge Bowman. Dr Bowman has been seconded to the Sisyphus for the Formidine Rift expedition by the ATC Office of Corporate Affairs, having been formerly employed by the Lyceum School of the Imperial Museum of Culture. Dr Bowman has been telling us all about the history of Project Dynasty, its anti-Thargoid aims and its links to a shadowy organisation known only as The Club. Alongside this, he has been telling us of the legend of Raxxla and its possible connections to the area of space our intrepid pilots will be heading into. Are these just myths and bedtime stories? I don’t know. But perhaps heroes of Artemis Corporation such as CMDRs Bishop Hollands, Nyle Locke and Tetra Trash, can make their marks on eternity by finding clues to the elusive planet.

We’re now down in the main hangar beneath the vast landing pads of the Sisyphus and the activity is certainly becoming more intense. Anticipation and anxiousness circulate amongst the crew, steadied by the smartly dressed officers of the fleet carrier. Ships of all sizes, manufacturers, loadouts and roles are scattered across the deck of this massive, cathedral-like space. Distant sounds of electron-beam welders and impact wrenches in the maintenance bays punctuate the low reverberating hum of the ship’s engines and the excited chatter of the enlisted men and women. We’re hearing reports from the tritium depot that the containment units are now full, with reserve tanks being loaded into the cargo holds ready for connection to the transfer pumps. Word has come across the local network that the first destinations along the route shall be sectors in the LBN 623 Nebula, the Iris Nebula and the Elephant’s Trunk Nebula. Remember to bring your photo drones, CMDRs!

The scheduled departure time is 1800UTC today. CMDRs are requested to have their ships stowed long before this and to report to the CMDRs lounge on C-Deck. Please coordinate with the Flight Deck Chief and his staff. Commander Eben has laid on a fantastic departure banquet, including Albino Quechua Mammoth Meat served with Jaroua Rice, all washed down with Eranin Pearl Whisky.

This is CMDR Belexticus, in the noisy and energising hangar of the ATC Sisyphus, for ATCNet.
