Beginning audio logbook speech to text recognition."Being a Mercenary is not easy. The roar of ships overhead just doesn't stop. Are they friendly or enemy? Are the bodies being dropped out friends that will soon be dead, or enemies that will try to take your life? Not many make it through a single settlement battle... I'm sure many fewer than that will survive the entire war. These are men and women I've known for about a week now and it's still difficult to watch them die. I can't imagine what it would be like to grow up with these soldiers and then to lose so many in battle.
Now all I can think about is all the lives I've taken as a mercenary. It's not noble. I'm not fighting for a faction that I've been born and grew up with. I'm not fighting alongside my lifelong bretheren. I'm fighting for credits. Nothing more. There are some factions that are pure evil and deserve to be massacred... many aren't. Most aren't. I don't think I have much mercenary left in me after all this. Not unless it's for a noble cause. I'm finding a new system to put my weapons to use in, and this time it will be in defense of a faction that is oppressed, on the back foot, and defending their rightful homeland. How will I find them? I have no idea. But I'm not doing this anymore just for the credits. You couldn't pay me enough to kill innocent men and women simply trying to defend their homeland.
