"I was drifting around my favorite asteroid field just mining as I have been for multiple days now when I heard an emergency beacon from my ship. I thought it was a distress call from a Thargoid attack, but it turns out that it was the Anti-Xeno Initiative trying to prevent just that. It was a call for all pilots to join the fight against the Thargoids. Apparently the Thargoids had a heavy presence in a few key systems and were sending the big boys in... Medusas and Hydras. I wanted to break up the monotony of mining and to be honest, I've been day dreaming of jumping into a combat ship lately, so this was a great opportunity to do just that.

I wasn't entirely outfitted for fighting Thargoid Interceptors, but my Krait Mk. II still did great. I killed over 78,000 Thargoid Scouts in it some time back, so it was geared more towards the small guys. Now that it's all said and done, I'm making the small improvements I need to make it into a great Thargoid Interceptor killing machine. The fights were insane. I can't believe how many fellow Commanders were fighting the good fight. At one point I think there were 25 or so Commanders all attacking a single Hydra. Cyclops, Basilisks, and Medusas barely stood a chance. I'm talking less than 30 seconds to kill any of them. The Hydras put up more of a fight, though. I'd say 5 to 10 minutes, but it was such a great challenge that I can't say I was timing the kills. We lost several ships, but everyone was able to safely eject into escape pods. And whenenever the Interceptors were accompanied by Scouts, I took point and assured their destruction. It's what my ship was made for after all. The Regenerator variants are especially troublesome, but with Salvation's Plasma Chargers I was popping them in a single volley.

Some of the Commanders want to continue the fight tomorrow. I very well may join them.

Commander VladmirMcDoogle signing out."
