"Never before has humanity faced such a staggering loss. Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory, our salvation has been lost. The superweapon is no more, and worse, it seems the Thargoids had a superweapon of their own. My efforts of paying independent pilots 1,000% the galactic average for escape pods from the megaship "Overlook" has yielded incredible results. Between my own search and rescue runs along with other commander's help, we managed to save 65,000 civilians from the HIP 22460 system in just 1 week. My carrier jumped away with all the escape pods prior to the weapon deploying and has now been fully unloaded. Because of these efforts, I have now been recognized with the highest honor in search and rescue, being awarded with "The Samaritan" medal at tier 5.

... But what's next for humanity? What hope do we have now to stop the Thargoid threat? We've certainly angered them with our recent efforts in HIP 22460. Galactic war takes some time to prepare for and wage, so I expect we will have a small calm before the storm is unleashed in earnest. My guardian weapons aren't working in HIP 22460. All pilots I've reached out to are reporting the same. If this Thargoid superweapon is deployed across the Bubble, then they win. We can't fight them. We can't survive.

Many commanders will flee the Bubble and make a new home in Colonia. Many will will stay to fight... fight in vain, in our current state. Some will live in their ships as long as they can, away from all civililzation as we know it; reaching the farthest stars our galaxy has to offer..........

..... But where do I stand in all of this? What will I do? I suspect many commanders will have these same questions. And we'll only know the true answer when we are finally confronted with what is to come.

Commander VladmirMcDoogle signing out."
