Harmless pilot.

I decided i needed a new pilot, old one demanded higher pay.So i gave him a piece of paper, bought him a small ship and sent him to a certain outpost, where he will show the paper and he will disappear.. Forever.
I decided i wanted to train my own pilot, train one like they trained me at the Pilots Federation school and then later in the special training agency.
Looking at the crew roster at HIP 20277.
A fair selection, some harmless, some expert. Some damn ugly, do not want them in my gold Anaconda.
After browsing a couple minutes, i found a potential candidate. Not too old, not too ugly.
Her name is Claire Camacho and her rank is Harmless. For a mere 15 thousand i thought, whats the worst that could happen?
Her background being already in Imperial navy, makes her more useful, already imperial aligned, understands Empire and wont question what i do In her Name.
So i paid her wage, stuffed her into the co-pilot chair, head over to a Hazres and tossed her into the simulator chair to control the SLF, i chose imperial fighter, dual fixed pulse and point defense.
And oh my gosh she is bad. does not evade fire, barely can aim, complains about being fired upon.
One might find her useless.
But I?
Like the Old Masters said. Do not look at the failures, look for the potential.
She's green, true. But i am sure i can mould something something interesting out of her. given enough time and practice ofcourse.
No one is born a master.
