The Depths and an Old Friend

05 Oct 2020A. Vanderlinde
The depths have been calling out to me recently with great ferocity.

Just a week ago I was fortunate enough to meet two Commanders out in the HD 63154 system as I came across a Guardian ruin site. My first time across such technology was considerably thrilling; the great majority of my time has been spent building and purchasing the best modules I can for Freyja's Reach, and the FSD booster just so happened to come up ahead of schedule (G5 lightweight life support is my last obstacle now).

I couldn't help myself though - I really tried.

After the FSD booster was installed and it spun up online for the first time, I felt as though my body became another module along the distributor's conduits. I was electrified. Before anything else, and with a jump range of 63 LY, I immediately set a course for the Witch Head Nebula and didn't turn my head around until I heard about my Lady Liz's recent plight with the Empire.

There I was, lost in the California Nebula now and had just traversed the greatest number of lightyears in just two days than I have during my entire pilot's career thus far. And now, another Imperial game is afoot.

Liz and I go way back, right around the time she started working for Devastator and Sons. I happened to get caught up in a conversation while walking about Michell Depot where this absolutely unrestrained engineer was going on about P-waves. She and a few others were gearing up to settle into a nearby outpost that would become Demo Unlimited. I didn't know the entire story back then, but after a great dinner, a few drinks, and several hours going on about space, we decided we'd be buds from there on out.

A few months back I met up with Liz again to get a little pick-me-up for Freyja's armor and although she was explosive as ever, I could tell something was wearing her down. She didn't say too much about it and I was personally eager to get moving putting together this and that for my squadron, so it was left at that.

Despite my connections with the Empire, my lordship, and recent work done for the Princess, I've not been able to learn much more a part from what GalNet is communicating. I don't blame Aisling's court either; it's been a dreadful mess for them too recently. Nothing smells right about this, and of course this nonsense now about Liz and the NMLA... There's a lot going on here and I can't help but feel I've got to get involved more directly.

This one will be for me; AIRE is out, no official representation whatsoever. I need to speak to Liz again, need to find out more.

Whatever gets me closer to shoving off out into the endless Black again, is what I'll be happy to do.

Let's see if I can find you, Liz.

Hardpoints deployed.
