SLS Joins Humanitarian Efforts, Calls For Unity

Two weeks ago, I ordered the evacuation of all Sentinel Logistics personnel from EZ Aquarii. That choice was made after weeks of constant contact between our finest assets in the Deep Space Recon fleet, the people of SLS Operations Command, and other close allies. Together, it was agreed upon that a strike on the major population centers by an unknown Thargoid force was likely, and measures needed to be taken to ensure our continued operational integrity. Our evacuation of EZ Aquarii completed successfully, and I am pleased to see that the targets we feared would be hit were missed. This is no cause for celebration, however. There have been catastrophic losses in the vicinity of signal source now known as Maelstrom Taranis. Chaos has gripped the sector, and two more maelstroms have arrived in adjacent sectors. More are on the way.
Humanity is at war with the Thargoids. Through a combination of events through the decades, and the recent decisions of Azimuth Biotech, our species has been thrust into a conflict with an ancient entity beyond our understanding. Past conflicts with them pale in comparison to the level of aggression they show us now, and without action we face annihilation.
We must unite. The political divides we’ve built our lives around, the bad blood that has caused us to fight and kill one another, none of it matters right now. We must come together against a common enemy that has shown us it will not discriminate against us for what we believe in, or whether we seek peace with them. The Kingfisher and its crew were a beacon of hope in the coming darkness. So often the drums of war and chants of tribalism drown out rational dialogue, but this time they were muted as we waited with bated breath for a sign that peace may prevail. Their sacrifice, and the sacrifices of others that walked that path of peace, must not be in vain.
It is time for action. All willing personnel are to report back to their stations in EZ Aquarii immediately. All fleets are being overhauled as the situation evolves, but effective immediately Sentinel Logistic Services will return to its roots as a humanitarian aid operation. Operations across all fleets and taskforces will be focused on the citizens of the bubble. Transport divisions will begin hauling supplies and people to and from embattled systems, as well as assisting in the rescue of people from stations in immediate danger. Combat wings are to provide support for our transports and assist our allies in fending off the invaders. All DSR pilots are recalled to the bubble to assist in strategic gathering of information.
Those who choose to not return will not be judged, and I wish you and your families the best. I will not ask of anyone for anything I would not do myself, but I will not force anyone into danger unwillingly. Those who stay should know that this is life and death we face, and that involvement in these operations puts you in harm’s way.
To any able-bodied pilots, we need your help. Every ship we add to our cause is more lives saved.
To our fellow traders, humanitarians, to our friends and rivals across the galaxy; I call upon you to unite with Sentinel Logistics against the threat we face. Our skills and expertise are needed to ensure our defenders are well armed, and the refugees of this crisis are taken care of. Join us in founding a humanitarian coalition that gives hope to the hopeless and support to those in danger.
To those of you in need; rescue is coming.
We have entered a period of intense uncertainty, but through cooperation we will prevail.
