Hey Dave,
I just wanted to touch base with you regarding the incident last evening at Treschov Platform. I'm on my way back to Willis Station now from Deciat and Felicty's as fast as I can. I'm in the Liberator and something is up with the HOLO transposer again and I can't copy CPT Magnus' original transmission so I'll give you a rundown (outfitting was on the comms with Zorgon Peterson all day and they think it's a spotty power distributor). Anyway, Sungai Blue Legal VP Corey Bean sent me a less than pleasant correspondence after one of his execs was roughed up and a body guard shot outside of that new bar called Opal's Void last night. A night that ended in the deaths of a citizen, 3 pirates and an injury to one of our own.
At 2247 last evening, RTAC Dispatch received a comm from the Opal's Void owner about an emergency. Thanks to the war going on between the Social Savii Confederacy and those dogs from Luockhund Conglomerate, the transmission signal was lost before we could get details. Following SOP for a dropped friendly transmisson, RTAC Comms Tech Brandon Rivers alerted the Rangers On Duty Officer, CPT Amir Callies. So far, so good, but here's where things get messy. With our Ranger patrol class ships tied up with outbreak relief escort or recovering from battle, the timing was terrible and we had only three operational ships in system. To his credit, CPT Callies recognized this and alerted CPT Magnus with the RQRF immediately. Two of the RTAC ships in system were Ranger military ships, the RTAC Rangers Gutamaya Clipper class Cream of Sungai and the deLacy Anaconda class Relentless . Both too large to land at "Treschies". The third ship was one of yours Zuhair, a rescue ship. The RTAC SAR deLacy Sidewinder MK I class Grace , piloted by Lieutenant Olivia Rex with the RTAC LMS Search and Rescue Division. Rex and the Grace were 72 km away finishing a fuel transfer (see Incident Report 000217) and responded to the call. 10 km out she reached TP on comms and was told there was a medical emergency but was given no further details. LT Rex relayed this to dispatch who in turn scrambled the RQRF's New Dawn.  Upon landing, LT Rex discovered notorious Sungai Silver Dragons pirate Cane Dorgan and two others were attempting to kidnap the Blue Legal exec and had already killed his bodyguard. The exec was the safety officer on a mining ship in Borann where Cane's brother was killed while trying to bypass the turret rotation limit safety on a seismic charge launcher. With the RQRF still six minutes out and armed only with a pulse pistol, LT Rex engaged the Silver Dragons long enough for the New Dawn to arrive. A brief firefight ensued, in which the exec was rescued and two pirates were killed. LT Rex was wounded in the leg and side but is recovering well at Alas with family. RTAC Cross with Valor??? Cane managed to make it to his ship, broke platform locks and tried to jump. Luckily the New Dawn deployed it's Taipan and damaged his FSD. Unfortunately, he turned and deployed hardpoints, leaving the RQRF no choice. Salvage operations are almost complete. Services for the body guard are Thursday at Forrest Park. Rob, can we make sure we send something to his family? I know he technically was a Blue Legal boy, but let's see to it like he was one of ours. Rob and Z, can we pull a Recon Adder (the Eos maybe?) and refit it for system patrol so we don't have a pilot landing alone? We may need to pull everyone in on this. I don't want to say much on this channel. The tech guys say that Luockhund can't break this encryption but I don't know. I wouldn't put it past the sneaky sons of hatch breakers. The last thing we need is for this to get out right before we go public with the squadron! I had better go. Just got to a refuel star in Nepi and I don't like the looks of this Challenger that just pulled up.

Joe
