Logbook Entry 4, Cmdr Irishdavo

I finally made it to Sol after procrastination and disaster, and what a trip, I posted some tourist snaps of the visit in the gallery. What a system? There is way more to see than to do, but the tourist beacons, the moon, Earth, a terraformed Mars, Wow!!!

I stopped off to orbit Earth, home, Awesome!, I went to the moon, Awesome!!, I went to Mars, Awesome! and stayed overnight in Mars High, Awes... you get the idea... What a beautiful station!!

My squadron mate, Cmdr DingBatDave popped over to join me the following day, and we practiced Freecam etc, with varying degrees of success.

We went to Voyager 1, never travelled so fast before, he beat me by 2c, dammit!!

But Voyager, My God, what a sight and to hear the messages, I do not want to spoil it, but my heart nearly burst at the message, keep listening Commanders! Worth the long ride out... New Horizons was incredible! Gold and beautiful, a testament to human interest, ingenuity and curiosity.

Rather then schlepping it back in to Sol though, the decision was made to jump to Alpha Centauri, the coolest sounding system nearby... Then we jumped back to Sol, after a close call where we nearly had a space smash... Awesome flying skills on OUR part, meant that disaster was narrowly averted. This turned out to be a temporary reprieve...

While mapping the jump back to Sol, I spotted a Capital Ship in the Nav panel, having never seen one, we headed out for a look, one of us got too close however, and the Capital Ship Combat Air Patrol, CAP, felt the need to interject themselves into our trip, hard! They splattered the offending ship and Commander, who will remain nameless..

While my still nameless travel partner extricated himself from prison and had to enter rebuy hell, I went off to scan some of the notable beacons, some chosen were, Halsey Shares her Vision, NonHuman Relic, Federal Consitution, and Cradle of Humanity. Well worth reading...

It was time to scarab up though, we headed to Mercury and landed at Walz Depot. Having never used a scarab before I had a steep learning curve, Cmdr DBD was on hand however to guide me and to make sure that I got mocked and tutored in equal measure. Great craic hooning about on the surface... and after drawing abstract space genitals on the surface it was time to head back to the L.E. Senan.

Trying to re enter my ship however was proving difficult, request docking for your own ship, who'd a thunk it?? My travel partner had his own issues at this point though, refer to gallery for the evidence,... lol

Safely ensconced on board my Explorer in Walz Depot, I started on this log entry, I have loved reminiscing on my trip to Sol, and I loved sharing it with Cmdr DBD.

I will leave tomorrow and head out into the black... Not sure where yet, but it will be a journey no doubt. I will keep you appraised, until then,

Go n'eiri libh!
