Logbook Entry 12, Cmdr IrishdavoThe war that we knew was inevitable has come and gone. I did not keep a log during the campaign as I was focussed on overcoming a determined and aggressive enemy ad quickly and efficiently as possible. My squadron mates and I went to work ruthlessly and the FDL that I was preparing for combat got her baptism of fire. She held up well but towards the end of the conflict I went back to the Saoirse, thje Python was able to soak up some more fire and stay in the fight.
On a personal note I was not as conflicted as before. There was a clear objective coupled with the realisation that this war was imposed on us, this helped me reconcile myself to what had to be done. While I did not enjoy the fighting, I was less uncomfortable.
The big upshot is no more interdictions from the System Authority pilots, they are now my allies and the Starport is also under our control, no more scans on entry.
I used the down time to do some boom time delivery missions and try out the new Type 9, what a vessel, 758 tonnes of cargo space, amazing!
I need to gather materials now so I fancy a decompression trip, out to Robigo I reckon and be a space tourist bus driver for a while. Gather some cash and a lot of materials for engineering, which I will get in to when I get back home.
