D-Day

After 2 Months of Getting my Pilot's Federation License, perhaps its a good time to Reflect.2 Months ago, I piloted a Sidewinder named Loki Doki out of my Home in the Blueford Orbital, a place where I finished growing up and still think of home. Haven't been back home in a while. Written the Family a few letters, not this one, there's no good way to tell the folks you're going to war when you aren't forced to.
I told another Pilot in the Squadron that it feels like D-day, not like Stalingrad or Midway, where the fate of nations truly rode on their outcome, this is because people are being oppressed and we could do something to help them. Still, that kind of slips away as you sit in your Vulture, ready to end lives, imperial agents that are basically no better than pirates, but still ending lives.
I've come a long way. I once had just the Loki Doki hauling some booze out of Blueford, now I own a carrier. Its full of lethal warships I put down hundreds of pirates with, deep range exploration vessels I took to Colonia and beyond, and mining ships I earned my Millions with. The combat ships are all bearing the insignia of Winters, once just a name on the news, now my Shadow President and boss. My carrier holds her flag. After what we did in Belgitian, I am proud to fight under that banner, and what the Imps did in there... almost makes me okay with what must be done.
