Massive Nebulae Excursion, Day 7

06 Jan 2017Tervaskanto
DAY 7:

A few things of note happened. Another accidental heat sink deployment (seriously, I lose far too many heat sinks that way), and a couple planetary jaunts while en route to the Crescent Nebula. Also found an undiscovered system with two water worlds, one of which was terraformable, which was kinda cool. After arriving at a neutron star on the fringes of the nebula, I proceeded to pick a few systems to see if I could find some barnacle-suited planets...and just when I was ready to give up, I found not one, but TWO, both moons orbiting the same planet! Choosing one, I landed and took the ol' SRV out for another spin. After a couple hours of looking, however, my search proved fruitless. I'm not surprised though...the odds of finding one are astronomical without knowing where to look, and frankly, I just don't know.

That all said, if anyone wants to try and make a more thorough effort, or in case I want to try again, the potential system is:

Crescent Sector BQ-Y D24

The moons surrounding planet A5 are both suitable candidates for barnacle hunting. None of the other potential landing sites around the main star are potential candidates however. Also, I didn't scan any of the secondary bodies, so the six landable moons of planet BC 2 could also be potential search sites.

Anyway, I'm done with the Crescent Nebula. I haven't decided where I'll go next, but I'm sure I'll find somewhere to go...there's a LOT of nebulae between the Crescent and Colonia that are begging to be explored!
