First leg of the bubble return, I'm about 20kly away from home and got no real plans between now and then. System to system skipping along, feels pretty good I gotta tell you. Nowhere to be, no time pressure, just me and the black. I still got plenty of coffee, got a shitload of cash, and Fe2O3 is in reasonably good condition so I'm comfortable bouncing slowly home. More importantly than that, I've got a growing pile of exploration data. Too bad Neutrons and White Dwarves are out of bounds until I can get my goddamn glitching nav computer patched else I'd have a lot of real high value data. Nevertheless, what to do with a tonne of exploration data? Most people just get to nearest station and sell it. I can tell you right now off the mark that's just stupid. Such a waste. Some pilots wait for a CG and make a lot of cash that way, bit smarter and plenty risky. But nah, that's not me. I'll tell you the best way to spend exploration data, and you should keep it between us. Here's how. You could spend hours, days trying to get friendly with a faction to get their permit - I spent about a damn week getting pally with Alioth Independants doing endless low pay missions - or you can blitz straight in there, dump about Cr7M cartographic data and get allied <BLAM> just like that. Then you get the permit or whatever the hell else it was you wanted without having to waste time.
So here's my plan, I'm gonna buy some bits for Farseer, then get myself a brand new Annie, get the rest of the bits for Farseer, go see her and get to Lvl5 and a 60ly FSD, then it's off to some choice Empire and Fed ranking spots where I will just get allied for now, then spend the rest of the data getting as far down that list of permits as I can, I might bump Sirius up a bit:
