Tarrant's Log # 11
01 Aug 2016Dell Tarrant
I have continued on my journey toward Jacques Station. Earlier today I departed Waypoint 1 and made good speed toward the second .Whilst on route, I continued my survey of random systems, eventually discovering a pristine water world, I have catalogued the system and treated myself to an extended stay in orbit. I have named the planet Steamers View.
I carried on my journey, reaching Waypoint 2, and heading on toward BLEIA EOHN YD-Q B25-6 2, the site of my near fatal crash landing aboard the Witch Queen. I have named this planet, Witch's Folly.
I settled into orbit and, mindful of my approach, I began my descent.
Once again, I made for the huge impact crater, aiming to land on the lip of one of the smaller craters within the 8km deep basin of the main crater.
Picking my spot I throttled back and feathered the retros as I descended to the rocky surface, before making a perfect touchdown. A far cry from my last visit here. Co-ordinates are as follows : 36.9248
72.3318
Powering down the ship, I made ready to depart in the Turtle 1, my SRV, to survey the perimeter, before returning to the Steamer and settling in for the night.
Tomorrow, I set off for Waypoint 3 and unknown territory beyond.
