The First Week

CMDRs Log -- 3307-04-16 -- [SOAC] Irshikazum -- MM-0AF -- Fleet Carrier "Soterian Outpost", orbiting HIP 110248 7"We WON!" came the excited shouting through the corridors of of the [SOAC] Soterian Outpost. My heart soared in pride for what this small but uniting group of misfits had accomplished. A few days ago, our work around HIP 110248 bore fruit, and the Empire saw fit to try to put us down. The next four days were a hell of noise, fire and elation as we repeatedly knocked Majestic Cruiser after Majestic Cruiser out of the system. The Empire saw fit to throw a sizeable force against us, but the Accord and our allies pushed them back , and today the Dakak Empire Group signed over Xin station to Chancellor Rice and CMDR Psykit.
The victory over the empire here was so total, that there is already talk of a system wide run off special election between Rice and the lead of the HIP 110248 Republican Party to lead a stronger independant cooperative government, and frankly, I think we're the hands down favorite right now. Should that be organized quickly, we could have administrative offices at Glass within a week. I've set a course for the Coriolis now, and will be heading back to the family.
The wine is flowing for members of The Soterian Accord all throughout the system. I'll take just a strong mug of coffee. There's more work to be done, especially if I'm going to start hiring a carrier crew. I'm very close. My wife keeps pushing for it as the next purchase. What to name it, though? I'm torn between the Einstein, and the Princeton. CMDR Psykit may have orders for me soon. And a mug.
This week has been busy. Dominated by the logistical planning and execution of the campaign for Xin. That's obvious, but I also participated in a convoy out of Ray Gateway for kicks. Perhaps for those, I could use my carrier as a ferry to more independent trading as opposed to the contract orders that we did. I have some additional engineering that I would like to do to Bessie before the next convoy. I'm nearing the end of my pledged time with Denton Patreus, which was a boon during the Mudrhid campaign. However, I suspect my eye is finally being turned by the Princess, if only for her prismatic shields. Bessie and Tyrenok would both greatly benefit from those.
I don't think I'd get much more than shield generators for those two right now. Money will be a little tight while I figure out how to manage the carrier. Also, I'm not sure when will be the right time to do it. I did just have my family move three times in as many months. From the Reichardt and our expedition to Colonia, to Schwann when we finally got back, and now out to Glass Landing. Asking them to move into a stateroom suite on a carrier may be a bit much a bit soon. On the other hand, we've not really started unpacking at Glass yet. It may be as good a time as any.
