Day 9 - Deep Dark
25 Jul 2015Fizzix
Another day in the deep dark, where the silence is deafening. I am beginning to miss the hustle and bustle of civilisation, and am beginning to realise that the idea of heading to the core one day will be a major challenge. At least in terms of commitment. It's not that it in itself it is difficult, but I imagine the boredom will set in unless you employ strict discipline - Don't scan it! Keep moving! Don't even look until the core is reached, then take as much time home as you like.I continue to find lots of nice firsts though, and am getting good at spotting gas giants with water and ammonia life. I think I will make a slow winding journey home before thursday - I have a Camping holiday booked in Glencoe, Scotland, back on Earth. Hope the midges have been well fed, cos I don't want to feed them with my blood.
Anyway I'm nearly 5000 Ly out from home, so If I try to do abut 1000 Ly per day while still scanning, that should do the trick. It will take me on hour or so to sell the data, so I will have to factor that in too.
Until next time Safe Flying Commanders.
