Field Notes - Thargoid Hyperdiction

Field Notes - Stardate 20053306

I had been interacting with some Thargoid sensors earlier in the day. Testing weapon absorption and liberating some sensor fragments for further analysis, you know, the ones engineer Chloe Sedesi does some good things with.

While you can never predict a hyperdiction event around the Pleiades or Witch Head areas, it is noted as being more likely to happen after such experiments. So I made sure I just had meta alloys in the hold, no sensors, probes, Guardian artifacts and such things - anything that seems to anger them.

Well look at that. It worked.  Hello there!

It has been noted that Thargoids ‘ask’ politely for them (at least initially...) if they hyperdict you with a cargo of meta alloys, and indeed it is true. Before this one could ask, a quick flight assist off flip, and I set full reverse, once systems came online after the shutdown field had passed.

Followed me like a lost puppy. I found I could angle the ship in reverse to change our orientation...

Thats when the thought struck... why not try a photoshoot, getting as many nebulae as possible in the background?

For science of course!

Seemed to work a charm with the camera drone capturing the events. “Left a bit, steady, hold it there...”

“Ready for your closeup?”

Alas, I was mid sequence on a series of jumps, and getting low on fuel, particularly after the failed jump during the hyperdiction, so had to reluctantly jump away, and leave my new friend.

A parting gift of a meta alloy seemed to be appreciated.

While maintaining social distance, Thargoids can be quite friendly it seems, if they want something you have...

So long, and thanks for all the pics!

Caveat Emptor... fellow scientists believe this is the ‘Gary’ variant of a Cyclops, a non-agressive odd ‘bug’ indeed...
Do you like it?
