MISSING EFFICIENCY

28 Mar 2017Renderer
Alioth, the pretentious capital of the Alliance! Looks good from 5 light years away and even better up close, where I could finally meet Bill Turner and use his skills.

Problem one: I didn't have a system permit. Problem two: I had 50 tons of Turner's bromellite ore in by hold. So, I was stuck in 78 Ursae Majoris for a few days, where I had some chance to get my permission from Alioth Independents, the controlling faction. I sold my exploration data and Alliance bounties, but it was just a beginning. Taking missions didn't help, too slow. So, I've got the only option left: bounty hunting.

Yeah, with 50 tons of bromellite in my hold! That makes going into unsavory places even more exciting, if you happen to like self-humiliation in perverted form. As soon as some wanted shmuck with default scanner shows up, you're under attack!

I took precautions, bought me a fighter bay and hired a skilled pilot, a Competent-ranked woman I can barely freaking remember today. She was loyal, completely professional and rather expensive. Maybe that's why I can't even recall her name. Anyway, the job was finally done, bounties claimed, permit acquired. Finally, I made a few Grade 5 efficiency modifications for my three large particle accelerators and headed back to my “hunting grounds”, back into combat! It was great fun, but yet it felt like something is still missing.

After my refreshing trip to Alioth it was not too hard to reach the Dangerous rank in just a few days of dedicated combat. And yes, I hired another fighter pilot by the time, but something was still missing, something really important. And it was not about finally meeting Lori Jameson, the granddaughter of the legendary CMDR Jameson, Founders forgive me!
