Closing the Loop

04 Aug 2020Garrick14
I have proceeded to jump and explore a trail of systems above this locked Col 70 sector. I found various amazing stars , including neutron stars and a couple black holes. I made my way down behind Barnard's Loop and proceeded down into HD 43193. The final leg of my journey was planned to have been shooting from HD 43193 through the center of Barnard's Loop and straight back to the Bubble to rejoin my squadron.

Come to find out that all passages towards Barnard's Loop are blocked by additional Permit Locked systems. I feared I was stuck out here behind the Loop and would never get back to the Bubble. But I picked myself up out of my bunk and found the determination to climb back up the galactic plane and travel above this Col 70 sector. I've begun this detour on my journey, which has overall been much longer and rockier than I anticipated. I initially came out here on a whim to find some Ship Wreckage Data for an unknown person with a tipoff, but my journey has proceeded from the crash site to the California Nebula to behind Barnard's Loop, and has taken nearly a month.

I miss inhabited space, and docking at stations. Transmissions from my squadron indicate they have continued expanding, and more commanders would be needed for the effort.

My mouth watered at the thought of a Diamondback Explorer, but I believe I will need a break before heading back into the black again.
