So what am I to do now? p6

_I got to say, I've been around the bubble and have seen the way crews act together, this crew is top notch. Captain Telsa has been a fantastic leader to the officers, assertive but not micro managing. She knows when work needs to get done and when the crew can slack off for a while during down time. The crew can see the leadership in her and loyally follow her orders without question. I on the other hand have plenty of questions. What does this do? And this one? But wait, why not this one first? I can tell she getting frustrated with me. I walk around the Almighty staring out of the control tower, overlooking the landing pads. Not much going on but we do get a few ships in need of repair or refueling. Once, an Adder came in hot, chased by pirates. He asked for an emergency landing, bouncing to a stop on the pad. The captain opened up on the pirates with a few of the capital guns. Tore one to shreds in a matter of seconds, the others fleeing quickly. That's about as much excitement as has happened in months.

Arlo has been working his ass off, smiling the whole time. He's loving the new Python. He and I tinkered with it to get a little extra out of it. I had a few engineered blueprints available from using them on the Pig years ago and with some materials that were laying around we got it running nice. He mumbled something of it being like a roller skate with rockets on it. I don't know, but as long as hes happy and pulling in some ore I'm good with it.

We put the Almighty in an orbit around a water world with a metallic ring in the Hyades sector. Arlo has been making runs with the PBR Door Stop to the hot spots on the rings for a few months now. Its much easier with the Almighty having such a huge cargo hold. No more runs to stations, hoping not to get interdicted by some asshole pirate. Now, we fill up the hold, look for the best price and single jump the carrier to the location. PBR War Pig has been stripped down to cargo racks to shuttle the mats into the station. I usually take the first load in, negotiate the deal then let the crew have their turn going in and spending time off ship.  This leaves me with way too much time on my idle hands.

Speaking of time off the ship, it's been some time since we've been in a decent sized port. Mostly its been industrial stations, but this one is more refined, more amenities for the crews. It might be time to let the crew get some R&R. I let the crew decide what they want and then foot the bill on the whole thing. A week off the ship will do the crew good, even if Tesla refuses and stays with the ship.

I need to get a hobby, something to occupy my time. Arlo can work circles around me mining, there's no reason for me to get involved with the Almighty and flying the Pig anymore has lost its luster. I find myself staring out at the black more and more.  As I sit at the bar, staring out over the bartenders shoulder, a wide window shows the landing area of the station. Every type of ship coming and going, jeez I could sit here for hours watching this. For some reason, I always perk up when I see this odd, triangle shaped ship land. I think, man that thing looks fun. I ask the bartender, Jamie you know what that is? She looks quickly over her shoulder and says yea, the new Krait Phantom made by Delacy. Bunch of guys have been in here this week talking about it. They say they are going to take it to Beagle Point.

Beagle Point? hmm, that sounds like a hell of a trip. I'll have to look into one of those.
Do you like it?
