Back in the proverbial space saddle…

29 Jun 2021Lady4Raven
Another groggy morning, though the brain fog seems to have subsided slightly…

Time to suit up and brush off the ole space boots again.

It’s been a year since I’ve been on active duty, which is a relatively short time but it certainly feels like a lifetime. I suppose the circumstances surrounding my “time off” plays a role.

Suddenly I’m back there again….shit! Not again!

The panic sets in….the tingling…the tightness…I can’t breathe! The lights are flashing green and impossibly bright. I hear the sound of corrosion eating away at the hull and the sound of them.

Get a hold of yourself!

I force deep breaths, arms over head and back straight. It’s not an easy task when you’re in the grips of a panic attack, but it does work. I’ve had Thargoid encounters before, but the last mission was different. I’ve heard terrifying sounds, but I’ve never felt sound like I did that night…like a white hot iron searing straight into my brain. Visions I couldn’t understand….and still don’t. Hallucinations and trauma I’m told, but I wonder…

Enough of that. No time for musing on the past. Time to stretch my wings.
Do you like it?
