Ranking!

I returned from Colonia! I know..... its usually the other way around but there's stuff in the bubble that you simply cannot achieve when you are out of the bubble. So, as much as l really enjoyed being out in Colonia, I set off back to the bubble with some very clear goals:-

1. Collect all the guardian stuff I needed
2. Grind Federal, Alliance and Imperial Rank and get a Corvette and maybe even a clipper
3. Visit Sol
4. Get into PVP
5. Triple Elite

I did not expect to get to Elite Exploration on the way back to the bubble, I was using the Neutron Highway and that's the trade off, quicker = less exploration data and that journey will not yield the best rewards but I did break into pioneer so its close enough.

Having Gained my Elite Trading rank whilst out in Colonia I now had access to Shinrarta Dezhra and Jameson Memorial so I made Jameson my home base moving all my ships (yes even the ones in Colonia) there. Had I have stripped the builds on the engineered ships in Colonia I could have just transferred modules but I didn't so the 61 hour wait was kind of worth it.

Important to mention at this point that I gained Billionaire status whilst I was in Colonia. This was a big goal for me as it allowed me to pretty much build any ship I wanted to.

Once I got situated at Jameson I started grinding fed rank with that Corvette in my mind. Important to note that the first couple of rank ups go super easily. I had watched some great vids, shout out to down to earth astronomy on YouTube for the killer tips, so I knew what I was in for. I had also see a lot of commanders stating the Covette grind took no time at all. Yea right.... I call major BS here. It takes time.

Here are my tips: Passengers = a lot more rep than courier jobs. If you are smart and have the right ship ( I use a Python)  a couple of passenger cabins and some cargo space are the way to go. you can literally fill up with courier mission and add some passenger delivery options and get major rep points in an hour. Low risk is usually less rep but the constant interdictions are annoying from NPC''s.

I got myself to Ensign relatively quickly but the grind was simply too much so I then swapped ships for my DBX and headed out to grab a ton of Guardian tech. that was pretty fun but it sent my combat rank up to novice which I was not ready for. In case you don't already know, the game will put similar ranked NPC's up against you so the higher your combat rank the harder it is to avoid interdiction (if you want o). I do not want to fight.... yet, so Im doing everything I cant to avoid that combat rank improving. Just wait till I get that Corvette though.....

Once I got all the Guardian stuff I needed I started the Fed grind again and Im currently at LT Commander meaning I have 3 rank ups to go to get that Corvette. I could go and visit Sol now but I figured I have the permit now so I can do that whenever. for now its high rep yield passenger jobs and as many courier jobs as I can stomach. The grind...... is tedious but Im almost there.

o7 commanders.
