Suddenly, the trail of the probe led him to focus on a memory..
Twenty to twenty-five years ago, Inner Orion Spur, Rhea, Ito Orbital... At a book fair in Elementary school..
"Mother, Mother! Look at this! Look at this cool book I've found!"
The thrilled child that was holding up an encyclopedia about stars, planets and the galaxy.. That was me. The book itself was written in paper format, and at the current place and time, nobody knew how rare it was, or the true value it had. Not that paper books are nonexistent in this century, it was more of the information that the book had inside.
~The Book~
The book was the last of its kind for basic information of SOL, it had everything from how the solar system was started, to how all the planets were formed and very basic detail of the planets and illustrations. Each page was dedicated for each planet and moon. Once you pass the solar system pages the book began explaining about the types of stars, different kinds of gas giants, and the black hole. It also has bits and pieces of different minerals and metals that date back to that time and constellations. This was all it took to drive the little boy to what he is today...
"Mother, can we please get this book? I've done all my studies! Please! Please! Please!!
The mother bent over slightly, patted his fluffy hair.. the memory was so limited...yet he can remember very well her smile and what she told him..
"Of course you can, Honey!"
The little boy had the largest smile on his face, sparkling in his eyes like it was Xmas right this second when he heard her reply. She laughed ever so softly as from this moment on, all the pages that he has read and reread countless times until he was 18, turning 19 when he finally broke the truth to his Mother. He didn't want to join the Federal Navy.... Instead,
He wanted to go out and explore the galaxy.
To find worlds for the people of the Bubble that they can expand and live at.
To find beauty in what nebulae can offer.
This is the path he chose, he knows that his Father won't accept it... But this is in his destiny. His will to be an...
Explorer!
