"I'm not going to like this, am I?" I ask over the poppy-and-scratchy signal through the Galnet. The call was going over a hundred lightyears. Still, it beat trying to make the trip in person."Oh, it'll be easy," Marco Qwent says.
"Okay....." my voice inflects up. "What do you need?"
"I need modular terminals."
I blink, "Oh?" I feel optimism being to light things for me. "Just how many are we talking?"
"Two dozen, given or take."
"Twenty-four?" I confirm. "Just twenty-four modular terminals?"
"Well, make it twenty-five. In case something goes awry."
"I get you twenty-five terminals in exchange for forwarding me Professor Palin's contact?"
"Yup," he confirms, his tone strikes me as losing patience.
"Oh, that isn't so bad!" I perk up. "Well, you've got yourself a deal. I've got an angle on terminals. Where you want them delivered."
"Qwent Research Base, Sirius System."
"Never been. Is it a registered system in the Bubble?"
"Sure is."
"Too easy," I reply. "I'll have them to you soon as possible."
"Good. Is there anything else?"
"Nothing. Thanks for the opportunity."
"No sweat. Qwent out."
I kick back in my chair, blowing out a breath as a grin curls my lips. It's been a rough time since the bombing. For once, I've got a milk run ahead of me.
