Carrier commissioned, Shakedown Run planned

CMDR's Log, Dec 28, 3306:

I did it: I pushed the button. Five billion credits transferred out at Kepler Gateway in Kruger 60, and a new Drake-class Fleet Carrier waits in Ross 775. Now to look into possible outfitting options and meet my crew. I've already decided that a New Year's journey up to Rackham's Peak, the new outpost and installation recently completed high above in HIP 58832 will be the first first major destination for the carrier. Before that, however, additional Tritium reserves will be necessary to make it a seamless round trip.

CMDR's Log, Supplemental: Additional services are being outfitted to the vessel and my crew has been assigned.

Deck Officer Chester Mercer will be the XO aboard the carrier for at least the shakedown run. If it goes smoothly, I may consider asking him to stay aboard; he's open to the idea. His previous experience as XO of the INV Emperor's Hammer is quite impressive. Despite my distaste for the Empire, he brings valuable knowledge to this operation.

Dakota Duncan takes charge of the Commodity Market and warehouse storage. This is her first major assignment aboard a non-stationary vessel, and her attitude is quite positive. Her research into Rackham's Peak suggests large quantities of alcohol be loaded aboard the carrier and brought for a healthy profit, though some additional hands would be necessary to make it an expedited process. I already have some names in mind.

Ximena Diaz heads the Tritium Depot. She has submitted a report suggesting it would take approximately 1900t of Tritium to make it to HIP 58832 at full capacity, and an additional 1300t to make the trip back empty. I'll be planning for additional reserves. She has not indicated whether she will stay after the proving runs.

Dom Daugherty reports as the supervisor of the fuel depot. He has a background as a hazmat specialist for Lakon Spaceways. I don't know how I got away with being given such an experienced crew, but I'm glad they're around. When asked if he's open to staying aboard, he says he hasn't yet decided.

Mauricio Kemp is the Head Mechanic, and another veteran of the Imperial Navy. Spent his days repairing Eagle Mk IIIs (the Core Dynamics name that Gutamaya rebranded as the "Imperial Eagle") and Couriers. Now he has a lot more ships to be familiarized with.

Chief Armourer is Jonah Trevino from Alioth. Says he moved to the Alliance after serving in the Imperial Navy as an advisor to Senator Denton Patreus. He shares my most of my opinion about the Empire, so I don't expect there to be any contention if we have to work against them during any initiatives.

Finally, Malak Wolf will manage the shipyard. She admitted she's used to being more of a desk jockey than anything else. I told her while I don't expect to be selling any ships on board, I will have a moderate sized fleet to manage not just of my own, but the other CMDRs coming with us to Rackham's. She was hesitant at first but said she'd give it a shot as it was getting boring in the Brewer offices and her co-workers were driving her nuts.

Oh, I almost forgot. The name. The prefix will be "FTM" as most of the Hutton Orbital Truckers use: "For The Mug!" I've chosen a name from a novel series from the 21st century. While the ship itself was attacked and shipwrecked for a year as it was headed to Earth, I simply thought it was a great name.

Welcome aboard the FTM Dark Was the Night!
