Wakeup Call

I've faked my way through combat for a while. Other than pilots sharing the title of "Commander" with me, I haven't had to face off with pilots of much skill. Now however, pilots of all ranks have gotten some serious training. I'm no longer "special" for having gotten the "Commander" training that I had. Suddenly combat situations which would have ban an automatic win for me are actually a challenge, and situations which would have been dicey before are a loss for me. Faced with this prospect, I have withdrawn from extensive work helping Edmund Mahon bring enlightenment of the Alliance to all systems. Instead I have gone back to helping friendly factions rise to power within Alliance space. I have spoken to my superiors, and they have offered me a target system, and a preferred faction. I am travelling there now to speak with their representative to see how I can improve their status within the system.Unfortunately, their representatives don't much like dealing with strangers. Even though I came with notice that I fly for Mahon, to these guys, he's just a bureaucrat in a far away world. They don't care what flag you fly for here, they care whose bounties you claim. That's a bit difficult as I'm not currently equipped for bounty hunting. The best I can do is hope that some of their ships will come after me. The other problem there is that they don't tend to be wanted according to the controlling faction here. See, these "enemies" are actually pilots flying for the other side. How do I compete with that? There is little to no way! So, long story short, I am forced to accept failure on this particular task. Other pilots who are friends with the local factions might have a better time.
I have instead turned to Rajgonta. It's a relatively unimportant system, but it currently is under control of a dictatorship. I am working for two corporations there. I have hopes that one of them will gain influence in the local sector soon and I can perhaps help them to grow and take over the entire bubble there, making it far easier for us to maintain a stronghold there.
