Adventure Hopping

12 Oct 2020Ceti Fox
Having achieved the mini-objective I needed by venturing outside of 5,000ly from home, I headed back to the bubble

I acquired a lot less cartographic data on the way home, partially because I just didn't take as much time to scan systems looking for tasty data and partially because my navigation computer actually took me to some of the same systems coming back. That's really all that surprising, given that I was focusing a lot on neutron stars.

I made it back to Arexe in a couple of days and cashed in about 5 million credits worth of data. But then I needed to located some sensor fragments to give to Professor Palin and to Chloe Sedesi. After a little bit of research I found out about one of the crash sites of a Thargoid vessel. As I approached the moon where the site was located sensors picked up hell-all number of Thargoid signals surrounding it. I thought to myself, "damn, Ceti, you have to have to brass ones to fly in here with a completely unarmed DBX with the only thing engineered is the FSD". Yeah, real bright.

Descending on the site gave me the most uneasy feeling I've experienced so far. Surrounding the unmistakable wreckage of a Thargoid ship were several equally distressed human ships. Big ones. A couple of Anacondas and a Type-9. Not creepy at. It didn't take much time to shot up enough Thargoid Sensors to load the fragments into my material storage, and I was NOT going to spend the night there. The inexplicable moanings and clickings come from the Thargoid wreckage was enough to dissuade me from remaining there longer than I needed to. So, since I wanted to check out one of the biological signals I'd picked up while scanning this moon, I lifted off, flew for a few kilometers just within orbital range and set down near one of those. Hopefully I'll find some profitable bits while I'm here. And then it's off to visit Palin and Sedesi.

Assuming that the Thargoids hanging around this system don't decide to make my day a bad one. Wish me luck.
