Finally Making Some Cheddar!

It took me a lot longer than I expected to pay off the loans I got in order to become a spacefarer. The inevitable catch-22 of needing money to buy the ship and upgrade it with what I need to actually make money. And there's a learning curve, to be sure. Just when you think you have the right ship at a reasonable price that can do what you need, you discover this shortcoming or that. So, naturally, you go looking for a ship that can make up for that shortcoming...only to realize each has its own fallibilities. For quite some time I had my Keelback, The Ceti Blaid, which I struggled hard to be any success at mining. 
What a goose chase that's turned out to be. I finally wised up and re-configured her for passenger missions (again, taking out loans). But I persevered and eventually made enough cheddar to pay everything off and acquire a Python:
I've configured The Ceti Vilkas for passengers as well, but now that I have a lot more capacity than the Keelback could muster, my bank account is finally starting to get some breathing room. I can't afford a lot of time for engineering at this point, but once hit my credit goals I will be able to shift gears to acquiring and improving modules in all my ships.
I dunno...maybe I'll finally settle into some sort of rhythm and stabilize for a spell. I have to say, though, that all this mess going on between the Alliance and the Empire has got me more than a tad concerned. Although I'm staying well away from the systems I hear on Galnet where this is going on, I think everybody knows that if it continues, it isn't going to stay there. And now there are rumors of someone partnering up with the Thargoids. Sheesh. The Thargoids? Who does something like that? Do I need to think about adding some AX capability to my ships now?
I've got a buddy that lives out in Colonia. He keeps asking me to pay him a visit once I get a ship that can make the trip in decent time. If things keep up with the Thargoids, Alliance and Empire, making the trip may look better and better. But, for now, I'm going to keep my head down and keep pressing on with banking some credits.
It's been a long day...time to put the ship in night mode and get some shut eye. Signing off.
