A decent amount has happened in the past few days. I finished my little excursion to the California Nebula. On my way back I found a few systems that were haphazardly mapped. I think its kind of sad that exploration has been compromised by the credits vs time algorithm. Whatever happened to exploration for exploration’s sake? It’s unfortunate to see systems half mapped. There are so many icy and rocky bodies left unmapped. Those icy and rocky bodies deserve some love too! Who's with me?! ...Yeah...I know there is no one here, Céleste. Thanks.Anyway! Now that my ship's AI is done shaming me. I was at least able to map a few forgotten orbital objects along the way. I did find as system that had not been mapped at all. I mapped it out entirely and according to Universal Cartographics I’m the first to do so. Two firsts! One on each little jaunt! Huzzah!
I would have mapped more, but I was in a hurry to get back to Farseer Inc so I could exchange my mapping data for some blueprints. Needless to say I now have a 55 Ly jump range on the Dissent. It took a day of resource gathering, but I did it! Finally! She’s running like a dream too! I can’t wait to take her back out again. I’ve got to plan this next run out first though. Considering I’ll be relying on her jump range to navigate. I sure as heck don’t want to get stuck.
In the meantime, I got this hair brained idea that I wanted to do a few touristy trips. It’d be kinda cool to visit Earth and Mars High, Vega, etc. The problem is I don’t have the permits to get there. I’ll have to suck it up and play nice with the Alliance and Empire to get the permits and permissions I’m looking for. That means a lot of hauling and courier contracts for not a lot of return. Great, my favorite. I’ll let you know how that mess pans out. Actually, I think I’ll brush the dust off the Algier and take her out for a bit.
I’ve got a long day of mind numbing contracts ahead of me so I should probably head off can get some rest so I don’t die of boredom. At least I can probably get some scanning done along the way. Ugh, tomorrow’s gonna be a long day. Cheers!
