I really hate money. But having as much as I have right now still provides a nice feeling. How strange is that ?Today I bought a Krait Phantom, that I want to outfit as an exploration ship. I'm starting to go soft, buying ships instead of stealing them. The look and feel of this ship makes me think of early 20th's century Zeppelins: A spacious pod-like cockpit beneath a big hull.
This ship is cool, very cool. As in: it runs extra cold. Very maneuverable, and while it does not have nearly as much space as in an Anaconda class ship, it still has plenty of space for what I plan to do with it. Great jump range too.
Yeah, kinda like it, not gonna lie.
It is named after the first woman to cross the atlantic ocean on Earth in a plane, solo: Amelia Earhart. her solo journey, in 1932, was actually the second time she crossed the atlantics. She did it first in 1928 with two other pilots, becoming the first woman to cross the ocean by plane. When she arrived, she said: "Stultz did all the flying—had to. I was just baggage, like a sack of potatoes." She added, "... maybe someday I'll try it alone."
And she did, 4 years later. And I feel this story resembles mine, in some way, at the time I got independent from Morgan Swale's crew.
I could take the J.C. Dufresnoy to exploration, but I feel better in this cozy space. Anaconda class ships really are huge, and cannot dock everywhere. Also, it already serves as a multi-purpose ship in the fleet, I don't want it to be specialized yet. All I need now, is some place to go...
Also... I think I may have an idea to finally wipe out the dust my Courier is starting to accumulate in that Tavern's hangar... It may seem like a stupid idea. But I saw a race in an asteroid belt yesterday and...
Yeah, I may make a speedster out of this beauty. All I need is a nice touch of paint and someone talented to tune my thrusters to their maximum potential. And guess who's good at that ? The girl with whom I talked about fake aliens and things last time
