The Search for Life #27
27 Nov 2020Rsassman
Captain's log star date November 27, 3306 13:30Wilt all the data processing behind us and no raw data left to post, and still over a day away from the next leg starting. We are heading out from the Synuefe KU-F B44-4 system on short hops to gather research data. our first target system is a Canonn patrol system
Synuefe MP-F b44-1 from there we will be heading to Synuefe GK-Q c21-10 for EDSM scanning and distance calculations.
14:00
IN route to Synuefe MP-F b44-1 we found a system Synuefe KE-H b43-5 with 2 NSP's to check out. The 2 Nsp's didn't turn up anything new and the system was of relative low value. We logged the solar and bio data in the system then continued on
14:30
We have just set down on the HMC planet 2 in the Synuefe MP-F b44-1. our D-Scan and FSS scan have confirmed the Canonn data that there are biologic signals in the system. Further study reviled them of planet 2. Also 7 geologic signals are here. We are going to move on rather quickly. So far we have scanned 1 bio and 1 geo signal and flagged the system for further study during the long term study of this sector. We are going to hold here for a bit and run a quick surface op. to gather some raw mat's before we continue.
When we do continue we will leave this planet, do a Surface scan of a planet or 2 then head to the EDSM Mission system.
15:30
Mining here did not get us much of what we needed at this time, however we still have a few tons of what we need so its not critical. We are now prepping for launch to Synuefe GK-Q c21-10.
17:30
We have finished the preliminary survey of Synuefe GK-Q c21-10 and have flagged this system for the long term study. After the survey we headed for the Carrier again. Once we arrive at the carrier we will compile and process the data from the day and then bunk down for the night. Tomorrow morning we will begin preparation's for the next leg of the mission.
On our return to the carrier, we Received the message that the carrier For Science has failed to return from a scheduled jump test earlier today.
Search operations with the Antelope are under way, all we can do is hope that they are safe and will be back in operation soon.
20:24
Still no word on the carrier or any updates on the status of the search operations. Because of this we will be monitoring local communications throughout the night for updates and will be in orbit of the Main Sequence Star in Synuefe KU-F B44-4.
What has already been a long day for the crew today will continue throughout the night.
We will update this log entry with any further news.
November 28, 3306 12:45
We monitored a message from thegerard46 which was docked to the Carrier for science at the time of the test.
"Good morning. I'm on board at carrier B.P.R.V. For Science!"
The message was then relayed to the Antelope and communication between the two ships did revival the location of the For Science.
04:33
The carcass of the fleet carrier "BPRV For Science !" has been located in the Vela Dark Region, nearly three hundred light years from her expected position. Her system location has been established as VELA DARK REGION LC-V C2-29
The vessel appears to be derelict and non-operational, although there is an automated ATC active and landing pads remain functional. Despite the absence of the carrier's own crew, there are initial reports that some of our expedition members may still be on board.
Prior to the loss of telemetry from the carrier, emergency transmissions were detected, indicating that the catastrophic event may be connected to the reported discovery of anomalous crystal resins in the engine manifolds some days previously.
The quantum inversion occurrence resulting from this incident has been classified as a Level 1 Hazard, and all vehicles are requested to leave the immediate vicinity of the carrier at their earliest opportunity.
This was the last message we received and explains some of what happened. At this time we do not know what will become of the mission later today, All we can do now is wait and pray for the safety of the crew of the for science.
