The Search for Life #28
28 Nov 2020Rsassman
Captain's log star date November 28, 3306 11:00We have just received word that the mission plan of the day will be on schedule and limited details have been released. and we are all going to gather here at our current waypoint near the guardian beacon, from there we will figure out the rest.
More information on the for science, it has been confirmed the an issue in the FSD drive caused a cascade failure killing all in engineering, most of the remaining crew were able to use the life pods to escape. The ship is at a total loss and salvage operations in the Vela Dark Region are ongoing.
We on the Piper Maru are making preparation's to get under way and head out to the beacon now. We have a confirmed time of the meeting and the first jump point to take place at 11:45
11:45
We gathered here and managed to reactivate the beacon and collect the data and key from it without much difficulty, then it was on to Synuefe EN-H d11-96 and explore a guardian structure there.
13:00
The guardian structure was a large place with lots to explore, we did gather some materials and artifacts while we were there, which we will hang on to until we can safely sell or store them somewhere.
13:13
We have received the route for the next leg and input the plan into the flight computer and it is 183 jumps and 8,394.30Ly from our current location. The route will take us through the VELA DARK REGION LC-V C2-29 the final resting place of the crew for science. once there we can see if any assistance is needed with the salvage ops there.
14:15
We have arrived in VELA DARK REGION LC-V C2-29 and are preparing to get some photos of the derelict B.P.R.V for science. After getting the photos we will be doing a quick scan here in the system then dock with the Antelope to resupply for the long haul ahead.
14:31
We have docked on the carrier Antelope for resupply, crew estimates about an hour time to get us ready to launch. This will be a short break before we continue on later today.
18:30
Many delays in supplying the ship. mostly due to the for science salvage ops going on and we are finally ready and are heading out. A break for us was that the first few systems were of 0 value above a quick honk before exiting the dark and entering the Col sector.
19:00
Col Sector GU-U c17 - 1 was a Virgin system. as we are the first ship ever to pass through. This find did slow us down a bit, but well worth it for the discovery. We are now continuing on to the Prua Dryoae SU-W d2-37 system, which is our planned stopping point. for the day.
20:02
We have made it to Prua Dryoae SU-W d2-37 a neutron star system and used the star to jump to Prua Dryoae IX-G b15-2 which after a system scan we landed on planet 1 A. we will set up a small mining op here at geologic signal 40/43 to gather some mats and then put an end to this long day.
