The Search for Life #35

Captain's log star date December 8, 3306 11:36After a great day yesterday, no major issues or delays, we managed far beyond our scheduled distance. Leaving us well on track for Wednesday arrival at the first Waypoint of this final leg of the expedition
Throughout last evening and well into the night, the crew ran all maintenance and did manage to fully complete several sections of out data program. Also as it is early in the leg for many of the fleet we got scattered across the galaxy, with some on the carrier, the carried delays, some commanders had to head off route for CG goals and independent study's. We ended up spending several hours last night monitoring fleet commutation's, and relaying the messages to the carrier or commanders as necessary. Now that the fleet is much lass scattered and closer to the waypoint commutation's relays should not be necessary.
Currently we are making preparations and course calculations for todays flight. We are planning on a 12:00 departure from Smojo LM-W f1-0 a Cluster that is slatted for a future study. Our current plan for the day is 35 jumps to end up in the GREOU EOP Cluster. we will be looking for a EDSM or Canonn system to end the route, but currently we are targeting IZ-A B33-0
13:30
Just a quick log update, todays flight has gone well. We are not making quite the progress as yesterday, but we are finding more systems requiring exploration scans, which is giving us a large quantity's of valuable data.
15:45
All systems are go and we are continuing on with the mission.
14:00
Since its now 1400 hours, and we have had all systems running at full for the last 2 hours, it comes time for a Preak and check out and make any repairs to the ship systems. Hopefully this will only be a short PMI and we will be able to continue soon. Engendering crew has an estimate of an hour for Maintenance, and about 30 to 45 min to bring all systems back online.
16:55
We have crossed back to the outer Orion Spur, and reached our planned distance just about an hour ahead of schedule, With about 16 jumps and 606Ly to go it has been decided to push on and attempt arrival tonight, rather than tomorrow.
17:25
With several high value systems and many barren systems since we passed our planned point we are just 3 jumps away from the 1st way point and currently crossing into the NGC 3199 nebula.
18:08
We in NGC 3199 Sector DB-X c1-2 1 jump away from the first Waypoint in this flight, and already the science is beginning, as we have just encountered 3 NSP signals and 2 target scan planets. the first of which contained Rubeum Metallic Crystals the second Flavum Metallic Crystals as well as some very unfriendly Viride Bullet Mollusc. The 3rd signal dropped us in a Rubicundum Lagrange Cloud with Flavum Metallic Crystals as well as Flavum Ice Crystals
After nearly an hour in this system, we are jumping to the waypoint.
18:45
The First waypoint provided data on Purpureum Metallic Crystals Lividum Bullet Mollusc Lividum Bullet Mollusc, Prasinum Ice Crystals Lindigoticum Ice Crystals and Lividum Bullet Mollusc
19:19
The next to systems on the mission although we passed through them quickly, we recovered data on Albidum Ice Crystals Purpureum Ice Crystals Cereum Bullet Mollusc Prasinum Silicate Crystals Prasinum Ice Crystals Flavum Ice Crystals Prasinum Ice Crystals and Flavum Bullet Mollusc
20:01
Well we pushed the ship way past its limits today but we did arrive at the final Waypoint. We did gather the data from Rubeum Bullet Mollusc and Albidum Silicate Crystals. A malfunction in the heat shield system did cause some heavy damage as well. With the carrier still en-roue after suffering delays as well, we are looking for a place to set down and make repairs.
20:41 we found a safe landing area on Planet 4 A and have set down. Engineering reports that it will take several hours of work, to get primary systems back up. Then they will have to Syntheses limpets for hull repairs, before we can jump back to super cruise. So until the carrier arrives we are stuck on this rock. Once repairs are complete we will see about possibly a small mining run. If we have time once repaired on the carrier, we may do a small test flight or two, before riding the carrier back to the bubble this weekend.
Over the next couple of days we will also be working on the data processor getting as much as possible up and running this week.
So even though we are sitting on a rock, we will still be very busy, and will not be getting much rest before reaching the bubble.
