Return to the Dull Life #13
31 Dec 2020Rsassman
Captain's log, December 31, 3306 13:30Its New Years Eve, our plan to stay here and work our regular run started out nicely, But only lasted 1 run, when we were called to active duty again by the federation in the Huveang De system to work for the Black Adder Armada.
14:50
We have made all the preparation's and have the 11 jump course set in the Nav computers, and are now heading to the
Black Adder Armada base. Est travel time 35minutes.
15:40
We arrived on schedule, but the job they had for us was really not worth the trip. Just a data transport mission or 2. We did them and made a few bucks, but it did provide us the opportunity to return to SOL. so a nice little excursion. We can see if there are any good freelance work there, then we are going home to Jamison Mem for some work there.
18:10
We have arrived at the Abraham Lincoln in orbit of earth. We picked up several data and passenger missions here that took us around the area, and mad us some credits. We are now headed to Jamison Memorial where we will be finishing the Royal Fortune, our newest Python in the fleet, with all the latest mining equipment.
21:00
We have made all preparation's and are underway on the first mining run with the new ship..
22:00
The first run went ok. Several minor adjustments need to be made but all in all an ok run for the first time out.
23:55
We made the needed changes, and did a second run, the second run went well, not quiet as good cash wise, but the ship was much better. Just a minor tweak here and there and She will be all set. Although it was overall a productive day, on the number side it was another horrid day. only making $495,870 just .23% of the goal, we are falling far enough away from the mission targets, that finishing on time is almost an impossibility at this point. Just to make the minimum goal of the mission on time we need $218,357,749 per day now. and that will most likely grow with the holiday tomorrow.
The last week or so has been rough and really taken its toll on the crew. As we start the new year, I feel it would be a great help to the entire crew if they had a down day. The current plan, which may change depending on orders if we receive any, will be as follows.
1. Minor tweaks taken care of on the new ship
2. test out the ship with a short mining run.
3. Recall all ships in our small fleet to Jamison Memorial.
4. Final configuration of all ships in the fleet
5. Head to Earth, for some R&R
Although not an actual down day, work for the crew will be very light. The Biggest part of tomorrow will be working on the data collection and processing programs, as we really would like to have them finished and ready to test on the upcoming Mini science expedition to Alpha Centauri that is being planned for late next week or early the week after.
This will be done in the comfort of the Abraham Lincoln station in earth orbit.
