OPERATION FIREBRAND #4
10 Jan 2021Rsassman
Captains log, Star date January 10, 3307 12:54Its been several days since our last entry, As there has been little time to add it in. the battel has been raging on for days. What started out as several small skirmishes along the coal sac which hear nebulas, turned into full-scale Thargoid incursions.
Their have been several anti-xeno support Squadrons respond from the galactic community. However, the Thargoid forces proved to be overwhelming and have attacked systems within the nebulas, with the loss of thousands of lives. Despite the best efforts of nearly 2500 pilots pilots, the alien ships have resisted being driven from the Witch Head Nebula. Many starports in the Coalsack and Witch Head Nebulas have been damaged in the fight.
We just do not know enough about the aliens to mount a high success fight against them.
14:20
Admiral Aden Tanner, chief military liaison of Aegis, just broadcast this message:
Despite the heroic efforts of many pilots, the alien ships have resisted being driven from the Witch Head Nebula.”
“Aegis’s military capability and manpower are both severely limited as a result of the loss of several stations for supplies. We have no choice but to rely now on independent pilots and anti-xeno squadrons as the first line of defense against the Thargoid threat.
Also I am advising that any remaining allied forces that remain in the area move out of the nebulas for the time being and just try and keep the aliens in the nebulas.
We are not Giving up this fight, but taking a more defensive stance now. Hopefully we can learn and develop weapons that will be able to push them back in the near future.”
18:00
As we and several other squadron's prepare to leave, surrendering the nebulas, we are and have been encaged in several small skirmishes. in the area, our main goal it to protect whats left of the fleet, until we receive official orders to depart.

*Pilots Federation ALERT*
The Holloway Bioscience Institute in Colonia is calling on squadrons to deliver samples from space-dwelling lifeforms.
The Holloway Biology Centre on Colonia 7 G is the organization’s primary research laboratory, which specializes in xenological studies. Jaques Station, which is also in the Colonia system, has agreed to serve as the delivery point for this initiative.
Chief researcher Dr. Roy Casimir outlined the requirements:
“There is still a huge amount to learn about the fascinating structures that grow within the vacuum of space. As our stock of specimens is running low, we require fresh tissue samples from living organisms to continue our experimentation program.”
“I appreciate that our facility is located a considerable distance from the core systems, but we’re willing to offer generous reimbursement for those who make the journey.”
Pilots are requested to extract any type of tissue sample, including pod mesoglea, from any type of seed pod. These are to be delivered to Jaques Station in the Colonia system. Hopefuly the samples will lead to a discovery of a weakness that we could use against the intruders."
End of transmission.
20:35
All fighter and deployed unites from our squadron, have now returned to the antelope. and await foe departure. round the clock patrols are being launched to protect the carrier untell such time as it can depart.
21:00
We have just received some updates from The organization Aegis, heading the fight in the nebulas. Although we effectively lost the coal sac and which head nebulas, our ops in the Pleiades have been successful. we did keep the small alien scout force from advancing, and infect they are as of this time in retreat, or at least heading to their newly acquired territories. but they have been stopped here. A small force will remain here for a few days just to make sure they do not return.
We are awaiting word now from our squad commander to see if we will be on that task force or not.
21:46

23:50
We have just received word that operation Fire Brand is officially over, and we have flown our last patrol of the mission. Tomorrow we will be on patrol for the antelope, making sure it dose not get attacked prior to its jump. We have several planned missions to attempt to concluded prior to the jump home. Once we arrive back in the bobble we will be cashing in all bonds and sending the samples off to Colona for research. Then we will be heading back to Jameson Memorial and working on the MAT program Ranking system. So far we have finished and tested the ledger input section, and it is working perfectly.
