Log 11: The Rescue Mission

Damn NMLA are at it again. I hate that innocent people are getting caught up in this, and ending up hurt or killed; I mean, I get it, I really do. The NMLA, like all Marlinists, want a very radical change to the Empire. NMLA's just willing to resort to this kind of terror attacks to try to make it happen. When I heard about the most recent bombing, I immediately loaded up my Anaconda for rescue operations; I wanted to help save people. I even thought ahead, and teamed up with some emergency responders trained in first aid and immediate trauma care.
I'm glad I did, because when I arrived at the rescue mega ship, I learned that there was only one large docking pad, and a lot of large ships queuing up for it. So I ran to the station, go into the queue to dock, after telling the stoic but concerned ATC my ship size, type, and passenger capacity. I think I heard some relief in his voice when I told him I could carry a maximum of 194 people; flying into the station itself was a little dangerous, with occasional explosions still going off as a result of systems malfunctioning, and the heat was rough, though I had plenty of heatsinks to fire off to keep my ship cool. The hardest part was knowing that there were people I was leaving behind; I could never fit an entire station's worth of people aboard my Anaconda, but that didn't stop me from wanting too.
Arriving back at the mega ship made me very glad I had people on board able to tend to medical emergencies; must've taken a good twenty minutes before I got the clearance to dock and offload the refugees.
They largely all expressed gratitude, but I know I got more than a few odd looks because of my slight Imperial accent; they never said anything--after all, I had just rescued them!--but I couldn't help but wonder how many of them were thinking "What is an Imperial doing here, helping us?"
So far, I've helped save over a thousand people from that station, but I know there are many more still inside; I hope they can hold out long enough for rescue.
