Log 13: A Journey to the Top of the Galaxy

Ever since I was a little kid, I've always had one dream: to get as far off of the galactic plane as possible, and to see the Milky Way the same way that we see Andromeda or Triangula.Well, recently, the galaxy has been abuzz about the news that Rackham, the CEO of Rackham Capital Investments, had plans to set up an outpost in HIP 58832, a system 5,000 lightyears above the galactic plane.
It's a system many may not have known about until now, and there's a lot of buzz about going to party, to trade, and to take in the view, but the distances there are to travel are too vast for any ship besides those with Capital-class FSDs.
And it just so happens that I have convinced Spectre, the owner of the Breach, to go there. It wasn't difficult; once I started getting excited about the prospect of going, my excitement infected much of the rest of the crew. And it also happened that I had more than enough credits to fill the carrier up to the brim with tritium, even if I bought at an awful price. (Which I ended up doing)
So, really, I basically commissioned the carrier to go there. And, seeing my penchant for exploration, I have been tasked with acting as the carrier's Navigation Officer for this trip, which seems only fitting.
This is the kind of adventure I live for. I'm nearly exploding with excitement already; we've just exited hyperspace after a jump to our staging point. This is the final stage of preparation! We set out tomorrow, 1400 GalStandard!
I can already sense the awe and majesty that will be inspired within me when I view the Milky Way in its entirety.
