BD+05 1146: Profiting From Peace

When the Sirius Corporation announced that they were going to settle the Marlinists, I smiled. Li-Yong Ri was a clever bastard - I was glad I was on his side. When I saw the systems proposed, I almost broke out laughing. All of them were systems I had surveyed for them shortly before their plan was announced.

The mission was simple enough: Deliver various goods to the space station. Auto-fabricators were the best option, and the profits were immense. However, with a fair amount of the galaxy hauling for this mission, nearby stations rapidly ran out. I had to do some thinking. The key was to minimize cost and the time spent in supercruise. With all the tuning on my FSD, I was able to get up a nice jump range from the Buzz Aldrin without too much of a problem. That left Cori City the obvious choice - close to its star, with plenty of supply. Each run of 400 auto-fabricators would yield more than 4.5 million credits. So, I set out and began the haul. This was old-fashioned space-trucking, no frills or fancy tricks.

As I kept up the route, I began to look for ways to optimize it. Take a wide arc when approaching a planet to avoid a slowdown, boost out of the station as soon as you clear the slot, turn off the supercruise assist. I was able to massively speed up the turnaround for my missions. The real limiting factor was my dedication to the task, as it was rapidly tedious. Still, for a mission to settle some activist troublemakers, it was not a bad haul. Trust Sirius to make a profit off of promoting peace.
