I made my way here as soon as I'd had breakfast and a shower. The journey was uneventful as usual, except for the docking. When I requested docking permission at Baxter Enterprise, they appeared to make a far more thorough scan of Marie Celeste than usual. After they had satisfied themselves with whatever they were doing, they assigned me to a landing pad I'd never seen used before, apparently it's reserved specifically for the Syndicate. This is getting really interesting.

Marie Celeste was not the only one they wanted to scan - I had to go through a body scan before they would let me enter the Syndicate Operations office. Once they deemed me safe, I was led into an office where I was introduced to Senior Operative Calvert from Syndicate Security. He proceeded to explain the reason for my summons. Apparently the Council has assigned me a mission - a solo mission.

It's a reconnaissance mission called "Foxtrot Bravo", and it's designated "classified, top secret". I didn't know they actually used those outside of fiction.

The details are sketchy - the Council received some kind of disturbing rumors from the Rosette Sector. Whatever the rumors were, they do not want to make a high profile mission - I guess they are worried about letting the other factions know about this - so I am being sent alone to investigate the matter.

I was given a list of systems I have to visit along the way - checkpoints I guess you could call them. Between them I can "choose [your] own route, but avoid unnecessary contact and communications". They also gave me some kind of message device with further information and instructions, but it's not a normal one - apparently it allows messages to be marked as only readable in certain systems. Calvert said I should check the device whenever I entered one of the checkpoint systems.

I'll have to cram as much dried and tinned food into Marie Celeste as I reasonably can - there's always food to find on the right kind of orbital bodies, but they're usually... not very appetizing. I should also get some Admiral Morgana, you never know when you'll need a spirit boost.

They want me to start my journey tomorrow morning, so I will spend this evening making a rough plan of the route(s) I would like to follow. To say it's a long journey would be an understatement, but I am excited that the Council entrusts me with such a mission!
