[Syndicate Security intercepted the following personal log entry from field operative "Syndicate Messenger" on 3306-11-13, source: Outotch FU-A c0. Checksum 45ba1a783f190e339ce6 verified]Note from Syndicate Security:
The operative actually made a small discovery today. Nothing related to the mission, but worthy of note for future examination.
His plans for tomorrow are not necessarily one we would like, but we are not aware of anything clandestine going on in the area, so we will allow him to dock with this fleet carrier without rebuke; but a note will be placed on his record.

While I was scanning a body in one of the systems I visited, the scanner highlighted something that appeared man-made, so I made a planetary landing and examined it. Turns out there was a crashed life pod. No signs of occupants, but I could not find any other artificial signatures. I don't recall which system or body it was, but the recovered data fragment is logged in Marie Celeste's computer, so the Council will be able to find it from there.
When I was on the ground anyhow, I spent a few hours gathering minerals. Now I can at least make a few boosted FSD jumps. Currently only +25% jumps, but I only need a bit of cadmium to be able to make some +50% jumps. Not holding out much hope for +100%... polonium and yttrium is scarce around here it seems, but I'm keeping my eyes open.

I've become really tired of sitting around next to a star scooping fuel for so long. For two hours now I have tuned my planetary map to scan for fleet carrier signals. I had just about given up hope when I finally spotted one in the V651 Monoceros system. Tomorrow I will journey there and risk a landing. At the very least it will allow me to replenish some decent food. If I'm lucky, I may even be able to upgrade my fuel scoop!
