I found a system with some terraformable HMC's. 161k ls away. I guess I have some reading to do while I make my way over.

Waypoint reached. My next system on the list is a 6-star system (Pyralau FQ-O b23-0), but it is 2k ly in the wrong direction. I am going to skip on that one, as fun as it sounds to visit. I am not quite sure how it got on my list in the first place. Next up will be Flyoo Hypooe PI-S e4-18 . It is yet another B8 IIIAB. After that I have a few O-class stars to visit, which is actually something I am looking forward to.

Just one jump further I encountered a system with 4 regular B V-class stars. The primary star is both heavier and larger than at least half of the B III-class stars. As I have stated before, the III-classification seems to have little value.

I think I will orbit around this star for the night. I need to sleep, and there has been nothing interesting to land at the last few systems. 18 jumps left until my next waypoint.

I've been playing some Project Zomboid for the last few days, taking a break from exploring and jumping from star to star. That game has been in Early Access for the last 1294 years (released in 2013), but they are finally almost able to put in NPC's. I've decided to visit another planet with life si..

Welp. I am back here again, on the DSSA carrier I last visited. I guess I should be glad someone found me, but sometimes I hate the Search & Rescue procedures to return commanders to their last visited spaceship. I heard it was to avoid people blowing up their ship to have someone else jump them to their destination. Can you believe that?

It does mean I have to figure out what to do from here. There's nothing to do in this system, so I have to go somewhere. I have run possible routes through my nav computer. While Cubeo is only 13k ly from here, it is still a whopping 193 jumps before I get there and will take me approximately 8 hours. To get back to where I was is 26.5k ly, and will take me 217 jumps and 6 hours according to my nav computer. I think I'll continue where I left off before my ship broke into many pieces. Maybe at least something good comes out of this.

I got quite a ways back towards where I left off. Still 119 jumps left, 17.3k ly. I stopped in quite an interesting system. Explored to no end of course, but it has a water world, ELW and three terraformable HMC's.

On my way back I have started to map bodies again. It turns out the overall route does not work in practice, and I have to do a lot more jumps than initially anticipated. The upside is that I do visit unexplored systems. Sometimes with terraformable planets.

92 jumps and 12.5k ly left. It takes so much time to get back there...

This is the second time I have to use my AFMU to repair the FSD. To get back to where I crashed I have been using neutron stars to jump, but they wreak havoc on my poor FSD. I think I will seek out a DSSA carrier in the region when I get to my destination, and restock the AFMU. The nice part about that is that search & rescue will deliver me a lot closer to where I left off as well if I manage to face plant in a moon again.

I encountered a Clypeus species on this planet that has an almost metallic protective cover around itself. My best guess is that it has to do with heat management, reflecting off most of the direct sunlight on the plant itself. For me though it helps finding them, as all around me I can see glittering plants scattered around the landscape.

Stopping here for the night. There are 6 biological signals on this planet, making it a decent place to gather some more exobiology data. I am still around 30 jumps and 3.5k ly out from where I started. Honestly not bad at all considering how far I had to travel.

More Clypeus with rough terrain in background
