My next journey takes me 9.8k ly further up the arm, about 161 jumps. The goal here is to get much further under the galactic plane, so I can get a nice look at the core. Currently I am about -100 units under the plane, and I will be descending to about -1500. Here's hoping that this will give me a decent vantage point in the system I selected. Otherwise I need to do the same trick much closer to the galactic core. Just like before I chose giants on the way as waypoints. If nothing else these systems will be interesting to visit.

I reached a new region in the galaxy. It's called Outer Orion-Perseus Conflux. Making good progress!

The route so far has been a bit dull. Only a handful of bodies that are valuable, and barely any plant life. This system has a planet with 6 signals, so I am going to visit it. It also looked really cool with the main planet and the moon satellite in front of the core. The core is slowly becoming more 3d, which I like.

First waypoint reached. It's a K-class giant. The core band is widening. I hope to see it "rounding" when I continue. With what I see now though, I am not sure if I am close enough, and if I will go below the plane enough.

Relatively nearby there is another K-class giant. This system has nothing more than that and 2 other stars.

Usually craters are at least somewhat interesting to look at, even on planets that have not much going for them. This planet is a terraformable HMC with bacteria on it, so I decided to scan them. I have run out of time for today, so this is where I will spend the night. The view is... sand. Just sand. Every direction. I am not sure how they plan to terraform this, but they will have quite some work to do.

There is a single biological signal on three planets 280k-290k ly distance. I am skipping these...

Oh great. And now I have a system with beautiful valuable planets. At 450k ly distance...

Time for some rest. I stopped on a very dimly lit planet with some life. I don't think there is much new stuff on this planet, but I need all the 'data points' I can get.

Some days nothing special happens. My carrier crew sent a message complaining that their tritium stock became quite low. Funnily enough they still have 4k left in the hold, but feel unable to move that all over to the fuel room. Lazy bums. Had to hire a CMDR to refuel it, as I cannot visit them myself to refuel it, then fire that crew.

Found a nice system. Two water worlds, 2 terraformable HMC's and 1 terraformable rocky world.

I found a world with 9 biological signals. Two of them are so scarce that I could not find the signal sources while flying a lap over the planet. Maybe they are on the dark side of the planet. It's still the largest number of signals I have seen to date I think.

The next system over we have a planet with 8 biological signals. For some reason this corner of the galaxy is blessed with plenty of life.

Waypoint reached. There is a KII giant here, but nothing else interesting to visit. The giant itself is average, like most of the other giants I have visited. Next up is a M-class giant.

Made it to my M-class giant. I encounter these a lot less than K-class giants, but they are out there to be found. This one in particular is on the hot side, with about the mass of Sol. I have decided to alter my destination a little bit. I will end up at a DA white dwarf, in a field of white dwarfs.
[ 24 03 3308 | Inferred location: Hypoea Blae IY-L c10-0 ]
I am making good progress towards the white dwarf I have selected. I did pass one already on my way here. The systems down here are a curious mix of systems with just stars, the odd white dwarf cluster and systems bountiful of life. This planet has quite a few species. Since it has been a while since I took a photo, I made one here. Enjoy.

Made it to my white dwarf final point. At this point I hoped to have a good overview of the galactic spiral. The view is not as great as I had hoped. I have to get closer, and possibly a little further away, to get a better view and see the swirls better.
