The mining, whilst I really enjoyed it, was a stepping stone to my next career, bounty hunting.I've tried this in smaller ships, early on, but it was dodgy to say the least, and several times I've ended up going home in an escape pod. Thank the stars they are so reliable, nothing like facing the void with a cracked canopy and only a few minutes of oxygen to make you consider your career choices.
So this week I took ownership of an Alliance Challenger. Yet to think of a name for her, but straight out of the box she was a massive change. I feel safe in her and I know that all of the pirates I've met so far regretted running in to me.
Need to think of a good name!
I'm running around at the moment upgrading her with some engineers that I know, and it just gets better and better. I know I shouldn't laugh when I watch the shields on some hapless pirate melt within a few shots, and then their hull gets pummelled nearly as fast.
But I do.
Also got an interdictor and first time managed to pull a pirate out of low wake. Was worried for a few seconds as I hadn't realised he was in a wing and his wingmate dropped out as well, but less than a minute later was scooping up materials from both ships and planning to go and cash in the bounty.
