MissingSea's Deep Space Journal Day 7 18/8/3302

19 Aug 2016MissingSea
I'm beginning to fall into a routine now, spend part of the day mining and then the rest of the day mapping the local galactic neighbourhood.

Yesterdays firmware issues have been resolved and I headed back to the rings of the fifth planet. While the outer parts of the ring are a bit less dense than the inner, the dust density is also lower. This makes mining easier as less sunlight is blocked. I managed to snag myself a few more tons of Os for the local construction order, with the total collected being close to 200 tons now, this putting me in the top 10% of the commanders who have been also aiding in the construction order. While docked at Jaques I also noted that there is also a new construction effort on the go, but unfortunately for me the materials that have been requested can currently only be source from the Orion Bubble, so I may have to pass on aiding that effort, bummer.

As I said, I also like to spend part of my day out in the local neighbourhood mapping systems, and looking for terraformable planets. While out exploring I was reminded of why I came out here in the first place, with this beautiful view of the Colonia Nebulas nebula neighbours:

This region of space is truly beautiful, and I will definitely be heading further out once I've filled further Os orders.

The last system of the day was a G-class star, that was orbited by multiple HMC worlds, and upon closer scans two of the planets were terraformable:

It was getting late by the time I'd scanned the system, so I decided to set down on one of the rocky moons orbiting one of the outer planets, all I can say is that the dirty paint of the DRX Jasmine was working well as camouflage on this moon....
