It's been a while since I updated my logs, 12 days to be exact. After my close encounter with the black hole I've been taking it relatively easy. This relatively easy has involved heading out into the Colonia Nebula neighbourhood and exploring. The first few days of this didn't really follow a direction, I'd head out on a random vector and see what I could find. As usual I encountered some absolutely stunning views out here:
I also ran across this undiscovered ELW only 80ly from Jaques (Eol Prou FQ-N c7-112), for me this is the closest yet tat hasn't been discovered, though I know there are closer.
During this time, the faction in control of Jaques requested exploration data for the local area, which fitted in with my recent jaunts out to the local star fields. I only managed to sell them 120 systems worth of data, but the payoff of 54 million was more than worth it.
At was at this point I decided that my exploration trips needed a bit more focus to them, so my aim to map out an entire sector of space. This is a task that is going to take me a few months to complete, as I have set myself the goal of not only scanning the primary star and any interesting planet, but to scan the entire system, with the exception of some moons in orbit of gas giants (that's a task that would probably take nearly a year to complete).
To date I've scanned about 50 systems within the sector that I have chosen, where I've discovered 8 water worlds, 1 ammonia world, 4 water giants, 8 gas giant with basic water based life, 3 gas giants with basic ammonia based life and 2 Earth Like Worlds. One of the Water Planets even had some C-water based life.
Due to an injury that I'd sustained, I felt it was time to head back to civilisation aka Jaques. On arriving back in Jaques' Rest (Eol Prou RS-T d3-94) I noted that the planetary outpost that was promised had been completed, the station wasn't yet connected to the Universal Cartographic services so I dropped my data off at Jaques before paying the outpost a visit and then heading off to medical services.
