Viper Strikes, Part 3: A Bad Day Can Make a Good Paycheck
12 Dec 2020Sirius T. Dog
My Viper dropped into the nav beacon after the short supercruise from Garay Terminal. I started scanning, and found nothing. Not a single wanted ship."Dammit," I said to myself as I finished deploying my hardpoints. I turned around, and began to wait.
I quickly found a ship to fight. I won, but my ship took some damage. My once lean, mean fighting machine had lost a lot of integrity, and I was now relying on my shields to do a lot of protection.\
I kept fighting though. I fought until my frag cannon ran out of ammo. I had lost my shields many times, and was at 26% integrity. I later found out that my hull was nearly destroyed completely, and all my module reinforcements had been obliterated. How I didn't suffer an explosive depressurization, I will never know.
But when I cashed in my bounties, the five thousand credits in repairs and restocking made it all worth while. Two and a half million credits were added to my balance. Not only has this tiny ship paid itself off, it's made a profit worth it's own value!
After this slow day in Deciat, though, I have moved systems. I'll start hunting in the high-security system of BD+05 1146. It's a lot busier than Deciat, so the bounties should be better.
Here's to another day of bringing law and order to the galaxy!
