Reclamation (Video Log)

Update: NEWP Command verified this log doesn't break OPSEC. Still held off on publishing until now, because I wanted to wait until we weren't losing the war.
Although I considered CTAC to be an exception, so they all got access right as I got the OK.
New Pilot's Initiative, the squadron that gave me the tools and training to be where I am today in terms of skill, in terms of standing, in terms of influence, and in terms of self-determination, is struggling to maintain their influence in Acihaut. That doesn't bother me, they'll band together with or without me. But when I joined to help, I found something I wasn't ready for. We were standing against many Commanders looking to support Movement for LHS 3006, but mostly operatives supporting Zachary Hudson, the man who created a Galaxy where my father could exist, a Galaxy where it's okay to show no concern for anyone but oneself... a Galaxy where a man thinks it's perfectly okay to do what my father did to me. I have avoided letting the first 19 years of my life define me ever since I left them behind. But more and more those combat skills have become needed, more and more my past has crept up on me, and now... it's time to be a soldier again.
Hey, look, I'm not dead! And let me tell you, it's an absolutely liberating feeling to finally be a real soldier while still being me. Always had it in me, just... Now it doesn't hurt anymore. And yeah, I'm a killer, but I'm still just about the most mindful killer out there. And for the record, only one of those enemies is actually dead now, and I did that on purpose. You might have noticed that I, uh... put some holes in him while he was down. That's because I knew who he was, as I encountered him on my earlier deployment- quite a record of supporting Hudson, and also, once I did some digging, a few... notable allegations, which despite being unofficial, were quite credible.
But to make a more general statement: I see a lot of Commanders doing exploration, and I know enough history to say that explorers are almost always motivated in part by a desire to escape society because it's a way to run from their problems. So I choose not to go that route anymore, because I've done more than enough running. And Silas is still out there, somewhere, taking on only the most morally disgusting mercenary work, according to my contact in the Pilots Federation. But I have my hands a bit full at the moment, so I won't be hunting him anytime soon.
