A little crossover between Elite and Anno 2205The Duke of Miller Gateway, Kamocan may not be one of the richest or influential in the Empire, but this last year his once-PLC has evolved to be quite a hotspot in the news.
A Pilots' Federation Elite trader, Torrente inaugurated an Exploration division that, more often than not, consisted on a dry-docked ship. No longer! Marshal Gurakuqi has hired Torrente's Pedro Duque for an exploration to the Glorious Nebula, around 8,000 ly away from Paras. The multi-million contract promises to be the first significant operation for Torrente's Exploration division in 3302, and if succesful, it may echo into his Q4 results as well as next year's.
"I'm very excited about this prospect", Marshal Gurakuqi declared to the Paras Gazette. "Duke Torrente has a reputation for a man who can get things done. This is only a larger order", the explorer stated. "I'm sure we will lack of nothing on board".
A successful colonial program
Exploration and commerce are not the only widely-successful divisions in Torrente's assets. He ensures the minority-group Comunidad Hispana in Kamocan has an equipped Faulcon-Delacey Python at their disposal, to ensure Imperial interest in the system. Also, his flagship, the INV San Jose, has been assisting in providing security during the Imperial-enforced lockdown.
But it's on LTT 874 2 where Torrente has mustered a legion of supporters, thanks to its colonial program. The Earth-like world has seen Torrente's skyrocketting influence grow. Officially under a consortium of start-ups formed under the local Imperial leading faction, Torrente has established several succesful settlements, including in its polar region, where some rare materials are to be found. He's also signed a contract to provide supplies to the Miyasaka penal colony, established on the planet's moon. So far, over 25,000 employees and colonists man the settlements and its results have been the envy of its competitors.
The challenge for Torrente, apparrently, is not spreading too thin accross his main activities, to this end, an unnamed executive of the company reckoned "the upcoming sale of the trade division so that assets may be strategically repurposed".
