SWS-TECCT - Fight Night at the Glowing Green Giant

This event was part of the Sidewinder Syndicate's "The Enthusiastic Christmas Colonia Trip".There was to be a SLF scrap at the Glowing Gas Giant, and I wanted to participate. However, I had no suitable ship. I decided to Buckyball all the way to Ratraii, to buy a Keelback. Jumping and honking all the way (141 jumps) got me a promotion to Pioneer, and enough cash to pick up a ship, fighter hanger, and F63 Condor to fill it.
Now for the trip back. I had planned to leave the Keelback in Ratraii, and call it to our carrier at the GGG when I arrived, however I saw that the transfer times would leave me too late to attend the event, so I had to fly the Keelback. I stripped the FSD and GFSDB from the 'Rabbit', strapped them into the Keelback, and set off to Colonia.
As luck would have it, there was a carrier departing for the bubble that evening. I boarded the FCOC 'Valentina', and waited. I could only hope that the route would pass close enough for me to make it to the fight night. Many jumps later, the carrier stopped at Gandharvi, and I got off. First stop: Caravanserai, the local Ocellus station. Imagine my annoyance when I discovered that they had Keelbacks for sale!! Oh well. Only 30 jumps to get to GGG from here. Thanks Valentina!
I made it back to our carrier and recalled the 'Rabbit' from Ratraii. Then joined the rest of our band of fools for a free-for-all fight in our SLFs, amongst the rings. We had some trouble (most of us being newbies) with our ships following our SLFs into the rings. That was until we disabled the thrusters to force them to stay put. Fight-night was supposed to be an organised affair, but turned out more like herding cats. In the end, I ran out of fighters, and had to call it a night fairly early into the event. I think we all had fun though.
