Here we are. After some shut eye and minor repairs, we are ready to start our deep dive into these new and exciting planets! We'll start off with our two terraformable, high metal content worlds before moving onto the ammonia and Water worlds we discovered. Fingers crossed there are some signals on them!

The first planet was nothing remarkable. A terraformable, high metal content world with no signals of interest. The atmosphere consists mostly of carbon dioxide and scans inform me that is just shy of 1.3 earth masses. Silicate vapor geysers on the surface could be of interest to those back home, but not much of interest to us here and now. Oh I almost forgot, we had just realized as we were taking off for the next high metal content world that it is over 200,000 Ls away. all I can say is thank goodness for FTL travel... After arriving, we proceeded to map the planet, but still no exciting signal sources. We did determine the planet had an ammonia rich atmosphere with silicate magma, and only 0.6 earth masses. Good potential for mining operations if humanity ever expands out this far!

Upon arrival at the water world, the first thing we noticed was the ice at both poles. Nothing crazy of course, it is cooler at the poles, but still a nice sight to see other than...blue. again, no notable signal sources unfortunately other than the scanner confirming the existence of water based chemistry, and carbon-water based algae lifeforms. It is truly crazy to believe that was once where our life had started...

Lastly, we hit up the ammonia world. This was the most exciting to me, because I had never discovered an ammonia world before this trip. Again, no notable sources on the planet but that is okay! We mapped out first ammonia world! No volcanism detected on this one, but very interesting to see the murky, brown greens of this world compared to the deep blues of the previous water world. Scanner reports there are signs of active carbon-ammonia based life below. Amazing to see that life always finds a way.

After these discoveries, we received word over the Galnet of an event that will be taking place with the Alchemists back at the carrier. An SRV derby! I guess this is our last stop at about 1,600 Ly from the carrier, we should turn back now if we want to make it back in time for the derby tomorrow. Maybe we'll find something good on the route home. Oh well. Part of the beauty of exploring is seeing how much nothing is really out there, and stumbling on the systems that are jam packed full of interesting and exciting things.

We'll head back and pick a new direction after the derby. Lord knows I could use a drink after this trip. Oh, and we'll hopefully be able to swap shields with another ship when we get back. Don't want to go through that experience again...
